One memory I have of childhood were of special treats, my Grandma made when we came to visit. My favorite treat she made was Pistachio Salad, also known as Watergate Salad or Pistachio Fluff.
Our mom told us she didn’t know how to make Pistachio Salad, I’m sure to keep it a special “Grandma treat”. But as I now know Pistachio Salad/Watergate Salad is a sweet creamy no bake dessert, that takes less than 5 minutes to whip up.
The combination of Pistachio, pineapple, with Marshmellows and the whipped topping makes an interesting creamy sweetness. The green color makes it a fun addition to an Easter Dinner or Summer Picnic.
This treat also makes a great Potluck dish!
Quick Easy Creamy flavorful no bake dessert.
- 4 oz Can Pkg of Jello Pistachio pudding mis
- 20 0z Can Crushed Pineapple Do not drain
- 1/3 Cup Chopped Pecans
- 1/2 Cup Shredded Coconut Optional
- 1 Cup Kraft Mini Marshmellows
- 1 1/2 Cups Cool Whip topping Thawed
In a large mixing bowl add the dry Jello pudding, the crushed pineapple with juice, chopped Pecans, mini marshmellows, and shredded coconut. Stir together.
Add and mix in the Cool Whip Topping.
Refrigerate for a minimum of 1 hour. Best if refrigerated overnight.
